Thursday 27th November, 2014 we held the 10 Week Worship Guitar end of term party.
The 10 Week Worship Guitar end of term party is a fantastic, inspiring evening of celebration and worship. Students from the all of the current worship guitar courses play, sing and worship together.
This term the party was hosted by the wonderful Oasis Church, Colliers Wood.
There must have been around forty guitarists there. We had four groups – two beginners and two intermediate from HTB, and Oasis Church, Colliers Wood.
All of the guitar students play four worship songs as a group. For many it is the first time that they have played in front of other people.
This term we had a quiz which one of the students had written. It had questions like “Name the four chords we play in our version of Blessed Be Your Name,” and “Who is Simon Nelson? a) A Vicar, b) A Chelsea Pensioner or c) a Guitarist!”
A couple of comments that I’ve had back this term are:
“You make guitar playing easy and enjoyable.”
“As I’ve started I do mean to go on.”
“It was good to see so many guitarists yesterday in Colliers Wood. Wow! Heaven must delight in seeing such numbers praising Him. I saw this lady in your beginners group, after finishing the ‘set’ she raised her hand in triumph. I will never forget that really genuine expression of joy and accomplishment on her face.”
Teaching the guitar courses is a joy, and the end of term party an inspiring way to finish off the term.
Here’s a little footage of the celebration this term:
